THE CAMERAMAN IN CLOGS: ALWAYS ROLLING

by Jeff Schwartz

After five decades filming everyone from Muhammad Ali to homeless veterans, Jeff Schwartz finally puts down the camera and picks up a pen.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Cameraman in Clogs: Always Rolling is a memoir built on fifty years behind the camera, on movie sets, sports sidelines, fashion runways, prison yards, and streets around the world.

But the book is not just about what Jeff Schwartz saw.

It’s about what happens when you spend a lifetime documenting everyone else’s moments and finally stopping long enough to reflect on your own.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jeff Schwartz spent fifty years as a cameraman and director of photography, filming everything from corporate productions and celebrity interviews to documentaries centered on people rarely seen on camera.

Known as “The Cameraman in Clogs” after an Achilles injury that left him working in open-backed clogs, Schwartz filmed U.S. presidents, worked behind the scenes on major movie sets, and spent twenty-five years producing documentaries about people living on society’s margins.

He stepped away in 2025 and lives in New York.
